Samsung flagship phones will only come with Snapdragon chips for the next few years

Apparently, Samsung has accepted the problems with the Exynos chips and will probably release the Galaxy S series phones only with Snapdragon chips for the next few years.

In the past years, Samsung has released its flagship phones in two versions with Snapdragon and Exynos chips, and in fact, each model is intended for certain regions of the world. However, the year 2023 will see a significant change in the said trend as all Galaxy S23 series models worldwide will be launched only with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

Well-known tech whistleblower Yogesh Brar says that it's not unusual for Samsung to release its flagship phones only with Snapdragon chips, and in fact, it's possible that the same trend will continue for the next Galaxy S models in the coming years. Thus, the Galaxy S24 series with Snapdragon Gen 3 SoC and the Galaxy S25 series with Snapdragon Gen 4 are expected to launch worldwide.

This suggests that Samsung has temporarily conceded its failure in making high-end chips, which is good news for Galaxy phone fans who have repeatedly asked the company to ditch the Exynos series processors in their flagships over the past years. and release all phones in all countries of the world only with Qualcomm Snapdragon system-on-chips.

According to FonArena, Samsung's reliance on Qualcomm will only continue until the South Korean tech giant ensures that its Exynos chips once again offer performance at the level of other flagship chips on the market and can compete with Qualcomm's best. On the other hand, Qualcomm will probably cooperate with other companies that plan to use a customized version of Snapdragon chips.

It seems that the maximum frequency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 core in the Galaxy S23 series can reach 3.32 GHz. This is while the maximum frequency of the main core of the standard version of the said chip, i.e. Cortex X3, is equal to 3.2. This chip also has two Cortex A715 cores and two Cotex A710 cores, which work at a frequency of 2.8 GHz. This processor uses three optimized Cortex A510 cores with a frequency of 2 GHz. It should be noted that the arrangement of Qualcomm's flagship system-on-chip cores is different from the arrangement of 4+3+1 in Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The Galaxy S23 series will be officially introduced on February 1 (12 February 1401) and will be available to buyers from February 17 (28 February 1401). In addition, a lot of news has been published about all three versions of Samsung's 2023 flagships, and we know almost all the features of these products. The Galaxy S23 Ultra will be Samsung's new top-of-the-line phone, which is expected to launch with advanced imaging capabilities and various other features.
